The Institute of Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment (Instituto de Agricultura, Recursos Naturales y Ambiente –IARNA-) was created by Rafael Landívar University (URL) to strengthen the research, training, and knowledge transference processes related to the environment and the use of natural resources, such as agriculture, technology and national forestry. Another purpose is to make information readily available, stimulate analysis, and foster debates about production and the environment in order to improve private and public management.
The aforementioned topics translate into the URL supporting the improvement of Licenciatura and Master theses research, training of academic staff, and the search for the precise place to insert concepts such as sustainable agriculture, natural resources management, and environmental quality within the teaching-learning integral process.
Outside of the URL’s academic environment, these issues translate into project implementation, technical and scientific research, training, and analysis forums, among others. All of them are streamlined in alliance with different agriculture, forestry, and environment stakeholders.
